"One dark morning, she left without a warning"

It's all about to end. My course is finishing, the exhibition is up, the work has been marked, the walls just need a little touch up with paint, but then we are good to go. Most people have finished all their exams and have been hoarding boxes and books into their cars and completing the time that they are to spend in my life, because come september, I will not be returning to Buckinghamshire, I will be off to Westminster! Of course not everyone left quite as organised as others, my flatmate definitely left a lasting impression as he hadnt even begin to pack when his dad arrived, and searching through his room found an accumilated mass of everyone else's cutlery, clothes and DVDs, along with a rotting butternut squash and a tshirt from rugby initiations encrusted with vomit. But for me, I'm afraid my course doesn't finish until the 4th of June, and i go on holiday a week later. Why can't i move out in that week? Well my parents decided it would be an awesome idea to book their holiday then, and even if i was organised to the point of anal retention, it would defy the laws of physics to be able to bring everything back on the train, sooo i shall not be leaving this room, that i have called home for the past nine months, just yet, so expect more posts! Anyway, i'm very much looking forward to the exhibition really just to see everyone else's work, i mean not just those who specialised in other areas, (beens us visual communications rejects were sectioned and pretty much quaranteened over at the red shed) but even those in vis com, you get to see parts of work and may overhear ideas, but the finished product for our projects has kind of been a big hush hush, only to be unveiled at the exhibition opening. This is also slightly irritating as my parents will be on holiday for my exhibition and so they nor my grandparents will be able to see what ive been doing for the past nine months. But i guess its just one of those things.

It was my birthday on thursday. I don't know why im including this in my post, i mean its not like i feel anything different, or i suddenly woke up and had a beard or had developed an interest in cat grooming, but i just thought i should say... how odd. Nineteen, what a ridiculously boring age, well that's not true i guess a year is what you make it but still. It was my dad's birthday last month but i didnt get the chance to see him until last week when i went home and give him his present. i got him the new Jamie Cullum album becasue we are both big fans, and of course copied it to my laptop and its awesome! "Wheels" has to be my favourite but "If I Ruled The World" is a big competetor. I love that his voice isn't edited to the point of 'perfection' especially in "Im All Over It" the horseness really comes through at points and you can hear the rawness and purity really of his voice. Guys just so you know i am definitely no music boff and my techinical terms surrounding the subject are limited and quite frankly i may be talking out of my arse, so really i hope i dont offend anyone. But yeah i think perfection is something real really, something natural, not edited, not sugar coated, or rose tinted just as it is, and i definitely think Jamie Cullum has this quality. I tried to book tickets for us as kind of a joint my birthday and father's day present but the tickets work out as over £80 which i really cannot afford, not having a student loan this year really sucks, and next year even having a student loan day to day living is not going to be covered, why do i have to buy food? Seriously i mean food is expensive, even value stuff all adds up. Therefore the Jamie Cullum tickets at Kenwood house are a no go unfortunately. My brains just really in sleep mode at the moment, ive been at the park laying in the sun all day and I'm really not concentrating, so i think ill upload a few pictures in another post of some work. Oh and also exhibition pictures after ive taken them.............maybe.

"The kind of song that people glad to be where they are with whoever they're there with."

Today was one of those days where you wake up and everything just makes you feel nostalgic and content in where you are and dream of whats to come. Why was it one of those day? Well the cause for this feeling of elation was the sun of course. I mean i have to say i don't dislike winter, i actually love it, our family have some huge Christmas ritual that like starts at the beginning of November, and my dad is like the biggest kid ever, and the snow makes everything look absolutely magical, buuuuttt, when you wake up mid january and its cold and pouring with rain and christmas has been and summer nowhere to be seen, experiencing some seasonal depression is very plausible. Any way off the point a bit, but i like sun, sun is good. I'm back at uni now and have a whole week to endure alone at the flat because some silly person thought that 3 weeks off at easter for the foundation art students was too long and we should only have 2 weeks instead, and it looked like everyone agreed, so, here i am, on my day off (i say day off but i have a mountain of work to do so its just a day i dont have to physically be in uni really) and i am lonesome. But not alls lost, a couple of my friends came to pick up some more stuff that they'd left here, and so we decided to have a saunter down to the pub, sit in the garden and enjoy a couple of drinks in the sunshine. And so my day has been good.
A little update on mfp, i was making hands out of paper mache a few weeks ago and got them out the other day and to my horror, mould had sprouted EVERYWHERE! How or why i do not understand, however it meant i had to throw the m away immediately. Which surprisingly, lead to an even better idea of making up chunks of plaster of paris and carving them from that instead, and you know what, the idea wasn't just good in theory but in practice too. result. Any way i got a lot of work done over the two weeks, it was just a little sporadic, so now i just have the task in somehow, defining it all and almost fine tune it down to one kind of area. But overall, i'm making good progress. Well i think that's all i have to say really, oh apart from im in love with Thomas Newman, his songs are featured in all my favourite films, Meet Joe Black; Road to Perdition; Green Mile; American Beauty; Jarhead, seriously they're amazing, for something instrumental that can make you feel soo much its incredible, i'd definitely say go out of your way to listen. Any way, Im quite content in sipping my fruit tea and sketching, so adieu!

"I am heaven sent and don't you dare forget....ask me what its like to have myself so figured out, i wish i knew"

Don't you just love brand new? They have such amazing lyrics, as do my favourite band ever like in the whole wide world, He is Legend. Ohhh mann words cannot describe my love for them, best line has to be "picking the scabs that have grown from our minds" ohhh wait or "There's a monster in my room we discuss movies over coffee." ohh i can't decide, but if you haven't heard them before, DO IT NOW! GO! stop reading this post and go! Anywho, so not too much more has happened since my last post, it has only been two days i guess, but what i have been working on is mfp (my final project). Well you didn't know i was starting it, you re eager to know what its all going to be about, well, young children, i shall enlighten you. As do most of us, i enjoy sauntering down to Starbucks once in while, and, over a nice venti latte with a shot of almond please, be a nosey bugger and watch people. So this is what i shall be doing. Well, its a little more specific, but i will be observing the mannerisms and idiosyncrasies that belong to individuals. I've spent the last couple of days staring and sketching unsuspecting victims around the university, well i did get caught by one smart little fella who turned round and stared at me instead for around five minutes, while i tried desperately to appear as if i was doing no such thing and simply letting my eyes wander around the room. The extent of my project won't just be sketching though, don't fret, i have a million and one ideas buzzing around this old noggin of mine to progress with the idea, that, hopefully, will be as good in practice. I'll keep you informed. I'm resisting the urge to go out tonight so i can get a bit of work done, silly st. Patrick's day, why can't you encourage people to stay in and do work? not have a good old knees up and drink? Ok, maybe i can see why, but you are making it so very hard for me to be good! As is blogger... so I'll be off, making weird and wonderful things the spue out of my brain and onto a page, peace out.

"Sometimes you're a tourist with a camera, stealing souls for scrap books."

A small, no no minute if you will, smidgen or little taster of how I've been spending my time.
The plane we made in 4 days with no instructions or measurements,
and all materials were salvaged/ stolen from the local town and skip....
like i said I'm a student, only buy necessities.

Plugs

Some photographs I took while i was in Madrid a few weeks ago.
Biggest regret not getting one of the toothless prostitue, Nadia.
Oh yes thats right we were on first name basis.

Weighted arm bands i made. Hmmm i dont know, maybe its from
having the devil's spawn as a younger brother?

As I said, just a few. Try extra hard this time to save a
little slice of time during the week for blogger.... maybe.

"It's been a while"

I think its quite safe to say that this post is long over due, and I'd like to think that they will become more frequent but I doubt that this will be an accurate thought. So I'm at uni, taking a foundation course in art and design and hopefully starting a BA Hons course in either illustration or painting in September, continuing to live on soup and boiled cabbage... why does sushi cost so much?.... The course is amazing, the tutors in particular, I take pride in the fact that i feel I have become one of their shrinks, and its so awesome to be living on my own (well not on my own as such just away from family) and just finally feel like my life is taking off. Anyway I'll try to upload a little photo documentation of how I've spent the last few months of my life and the wonderfully weird things I've that brain of mine creates, and all the while try to keep my verbal diarrhea under control.... sound good?

Boxes

My room looks like a storage cupboard. I really never realised how much stuff I had, well I did, but I'd just hoped I wouldn't need to take it all to uni. Ahh the excitement! But also nerves annndddd stress that i still have so much to do. My i-pod decided that it would completely die on me the other week, ohh and guess what, I've bought it two months, yes two measly months over the year warranty ohhhhh. So i have an appointment with one genius at apple tomorrow who can hopefully revive the little piece of heaven that is my ipod, otherwise I have two options. Option one: dip into savings and buy a new one, running the risk of having to go without food or some other necessity at university, thanks to that recent splurge on a new leather jacket. ORRRR option two: live without music on the go, including while I'm painting (oh god noo) and just buy one at christmas. Horrific. The other predicament is getting passport photos when the photo shop has decided to be refurbished the week before I leave, fabulous. There I go rant, rant, ranting, god not really a very cheery second post, sorry kids. Any way my puppy is now biting at my ankles in need of some attention, but i promise to post more frequently, AND cheerily in the next couple of weeks when i actually have somewhere to sit and a decent internet connection. DEAL.
